Who we are
The White Projects is an artist management platform operating beyond conventional gallery and agency frameworks. It is founded on the belief that financial stability enables artistic freedom.
We do not see commerce as a threat to creativity. Instead, we understand it as a necessary structure — one that allows artists to work with honesty, depth, and independence. The platform supports artists through a balanced ecosystem that includes commercial collaborations, brand partnerships, exhibitions, and self-initiated projects.
Through long-term, trust-based relationships, we develop exhibitions, editorial initiatives, and cross-disciplinary collaborations that sustain both artistic vision and continuity.
The Platform
We are not a gallery. We are a partner working alongside artists as part of the same team.
We do not hold inventory, mount exhibitions on a fixed programme, or operate from a single location. Instead, we manage careers, develop markets, and create the conditions in which artistic practice can grow.
The platform operates across commercial collaborations, brand partnerships, exhibitions, and self-initiated projects. We move between markets and contexts, always in service of the work.

What We Believe In
The White Projects aims to be a trusted art management platform based in Asia and engaged with the global art ecosystem.
We support work that is global in sensibility, yet not quickly consumed — work that moves across contexts and accumulates meaning over time.
The Name
The name The White Projects originates from the metaphor of "a bucket of white paint".
White does not refer to a color. It represents a beginning — before decisions about scale, space, format, or interpretation are made.
Projects does not describe a single outcome. It reflects an approach in which each work exists within an evolving structure that extends beyond itself.
The White Projects exists to design how artists enter the world.
We focus on how a work first enters the world — its context, its sequence, its rhythm, and the attitude through which it is experienced.
Ways of Thinking
We operate outside the conventional gallery and agency frameworks. This independence is not a position — it is a condition that allows us to serve the work, not the institution.
We are not interested in the short arc. We work with artists over years, building careers that accumulate meaning rather than chase momentum.
We represent a small number of artists, and we choose carefully. Every relationship we enter is one we intend to sustain.
We move between markets, languages, and contexts. We understand that art means different things in different places, and we use that understanding to create opportunities that would not otherwise exist.
The relationship between an artist and their representative is built on trust. We earn it slowly, and we do not take it for granted.

Founder
Angela Tam founded The White Projects after a decade working across some of Asia's most significant commercial galleries, including Tang Contemporary Art, JPS Gallery, and the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority.
Her experience spans artist representation, collector relations, art fair strategy, and brand partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region and internationally. She brings to The White Projects a deep understanding of both the commercial and cultural dimensions of the contemporary art market.
She is a participant in the HKADC Executive Leadership Development Programme 2026.
